Mera was created in 1994 from a family tradition started in the early 70's by Josep Lluís Mera and Matilde Matés, in street vending by many of the towns of the counties of Girona and in a small establishment called Pesca Salada Mati, located in the well-known municipal market of the Plaça del Lleó in Girona and which, even today, strives to maintain a clientele more than forty years old.
