LABASTIDA 1786 UK red wine bottle 0.75 L

Made from four vineyards in different areas of Labastida, each over 40 years old. The four plots contain a vast majority of Tempranillo vines. Pre-fermentation maceration takes place for four days, followed by spontaneous fermentation in small open tanks, each plot being prepared separately with manual pumping over and treading. Aging is then carried out for 16 months in 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels. A deep cherry color with violet hues, the wine presents aromas of licorice, lollipops, and red fruits, characteristic of Tempranillo cultivation in cool areas. Balsamic and menthol nuances also appear, lending complexity and originality. The wine has a sweet entry, giving way to a well-integrated, present acidity. Medium-bodied, with a sweet finish and round tannins providing structure and silkiness. Fine, long, and elegant, with a very subtle presence of oak, perfectly integrated and fulfilling its function: elevating the wine without dominating it.
