LABASTIDA 1786 red wine bottle 0.75 L

Made from four vineyards in different areas of Labastida and over 40 years old. The four plots contain a large majority of Tempranillo vines. Pre-fermentation cold maceration for four days and subsequent spontaneous fermentation in small open tanks, working each plot separately with manual pumping over and treading. Subsequent ageing for 16 months in 225 and 500 litre French oak barrels. Cherry red colour with violet reflections and high layer. Aromas of liquorice, lollipop and red fruits, the identity of Tempranillo cultivation in cool areas. Balsamic and menthol nuances also appear, which provide complexity and originality. Sweet on the palate, giving way to a present and well-integrated acidity. Medium volume on the palate and sweet finish with round tannins providing structure and silkiness. Fine, long and elegant with a very subtle presence of wood perfectly integrated and fulfilling its function: elevating the wine without being the protagonist.
