Matarromera Crianza 2021 Vintage. This vintage was characterized by a winter with higher maximum and lower minimum temperatures than usual, with adequate rainfall at the beginning of the cycle that allowed the plants to sprout very well; a drier and hotter summer led to a significantly earlier harvest date. The wines surprise with their expressive and rich range of colors, intense, powerful, and long-lived, with great aging potential, and the vintage was rated excellent. Matarromera Crianza wine is not only a wine, but also almost a cult. Its first vintage, 1994, won the title of Best Wine in the World in an international competition organized by the International Wine Organization of Spain (OIVE). Since then, this 100% Tempranillo has been one of Matarromera's hallmarks. What surprises us about this wine is the identity of the terroir from which it comes: historic Matarromera vineyards, limestone soils in a harsh climate with large temperature fluctuations. In addition to the balance between the ripeness of the fruit and its barrel aging, this wine rests in select fine-grained, lightly toasted French and American oak barrels to fully respect the fruit's expression. and CM de Matarromera. An excellent vintage, a vegetative cycle with optimal grape ripening, perfect health, and moderate production of loose, airy bunches. A stable development of the vineyard. Wine and Vineyard CM Matarromera is a red wine of the Tempranillo variety, sourced from our vineyards, aged between 35 and 80 years, located in the highest area of the Sonsierra. Plots very close to the CM de Matarromera Winery, with an altitude of between 600 and 650 meters and soils with a calcareous-clay texture. The grapes used to make this wine have been selected and hand-picked into 12-kilo boxes. It undergoes malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks and then remains for 12 months in French (65%) and American (35%) oak barrels.
