Matarromera Gran Reserva Wine 75 Cl

2016 Vintage. A vintage characterized by high minimum temperatures in December, followed by mild winters in the following months. Spring was cooler than usual with high rainfall. A very hot and dry summer brought long dormant vegetation periods that delayed grape ripening. Wine Because this red wine isn't released until six years after its harvest. But, despite the passage of time, Matarromera Gran Reserva is a wine that has been modernized thanks to the elegance provided by its aging in predominantly high-quality French barrels and the roundness imparted by the bottle. After manual harvesting in 12-kilogram boxes and a triple selection of its Tempranillo grapes (in the vineyard, bunch by bunch and berry by berry), fermentation takes place with native yeasts. It comes from the Finca de San Román and Las Celadillas, emblematic vineyards of Matarromera that are very close to the Winery, on a steep limestone slope above the Duero River.

Features

  • Time takes on meaning with Matarromera Gran Reserva. A total of 24 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by 36 months in the bottle, are necessary for the birth of this oenological gem. Matarromera Gran Reserva lives up to its name; it is a red wine lovingly crafted from our own Tempranillo vineyards in the Duero Valley, between Olivares and Valbuena de Duero.
