Activity
The history of Bodegas Fernando Castro goes back to 1850, when in its property of Santa Cruz de Mudela, the Castro family began to elaborate white and red wines, coming from own cultivated grapes, that already then were elaborated and raised following the traditional methods handicrafts from the area. But it was not until a few years later, when his son Juan Manuel Castro Corredor began the commercial activity of the winery. In this sense, the construction of the railroad in 1861 represents an important step forward. In 1895, the wines of Bodegas Fernando Castro cross new frontiers, beginning to be commercialized in Madrid, thanks to the famous "Tren del Vino". The success was immediate and exceeded expectations: in a short time, the winery began to export to the Philippines, Cuba and Central America, through the Port of Cádiz, and the winery experienced a great growth. The facilities were expanded and production increased. The effort and good work has been the one that has marked the character of the family, making Bodegas Fernando Castro one of the most important references of the Valdepeñas Denomination of Origin.

History
Bodegas Fernando Castro was founded in 1850 in Santa Cruz de Mudela, Castilla-La Mancha, by the Castro family, who began producing white and red wines using artisanal methods. Commercial activity began shortly after under the direction of Juan Manuel Castro Corredor. In 1895, the winery began marketing its wines in Madrid and later exported to Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. Thanks to its central location in Spain and its emphasis on quality, the company has expanded its market to more than 70 countries. Currently, two generations of the Castro family, along with a professional team, manage the company, which boasts modern facilities and a significant presence in the region's wine sector.

The company offers a wide range of wines, including wines with Denomination of Origin (Valdepeñas, La Mancha, Rioja, Rías Baixas, Ribera del Duero), varietal wines, table wines, sparkling wines, alcohol-free wines, organic wines, vegan wines, kosher wines, and sangrias. Among its notable products are the Raíces brands (Reserva, Crianza, VI Generación, Tempranillo, Airén, Verdejo), Carmela (young and sparkling wines), and Pure Zero (alcohol-free).
