Pittacum red wine 75cl

VARIETIES 100% Mencía VINEYARDS The grapes come from more than 200 plots with vines at least 80 years old. Located throughout the Bierzo region, which gives us various types of soil and very different climatic conditions, among which deep and sloping loam soils stand out, which induce a complete maturation of the tannins. Soils that maintain acidity, the backbone of our Pittacum. The acidity favors a long aging in barrels and that gains complexity over the years in the bottle. Harvest and manual interventions of old vines pruned in a high-density goblet. VINIFICATION Different types of vinification, depending on the location of the vineyard, that extract the best of each terroir, providing depth and complexity to the wine. Careful during fermentation, trying to selectively extract the best tannins, soft and without bitterness. Between 8 and 70 months of aging in French oak barrels, of which 20% is in new barrels. TASTING NOTES 1 Intense colour, with an elegant nose. Bright and fresh red fruits, spices, Indian ink and minerals. Smooth and juicy on the palate, with a long finish.
