The Castaño Family has always been a pioneer in the area, experimenting with the Monastrell variety, both in varietal and coupage, introducing the latest technological advances, both in the vineyard and in the winery, and implementing quality systems that allow for the most appropriate production. Its wines are the result of working with the autochthonous Monastrell variety, of constant experimentation with other varieties and of the different types of soil where its DO Yecla vineyards are located. The care of the vineyard, the exhaustive selection of grapes and a meticulous preparation, adapted to each variety and type of grape, allow this winery to offer a wide range of wines, young or with different levels of oak aging, monovarietal and harmonious blends. Bodegas Castaño has managed to give the Yecla wine region the seal of quality that it lacked, highlighting the red wine from this Mediterranean area. A family winery changing the schemes, breaking stereotypes and clichés since 1980.

Features

• Tasting notes: Bright dark pink colour. It is powerful on the nose, with intense aromas of ripe red fruit and sweet spices. On the palate it is delicate, soft, but rich and voluminous at the same time. Long and very well structured. Light aging in barrels for 6 months
• Serve at 16-17ºC. Very versatile. Pairs with lamb in all its forms, meat stews, grilled meats, spicy dishes (Mexican, Tandoris), etc. Also with lighter dishes, cured cheeses and varied tapas.
