Activity
Since 1583 the history of our winery is synonymous with the history of our family. We invite you to meet her.
Awarded for the second time as the best Winery in Art and Culture, Bodegas Valdelana is located in Elciego, the cradle of Rioja wine. A town of just over 1000 inhabitants located between the cities of Logroño and Vitoria, in the area known as the Rioja Alavesa.
In addition to the great variety of wines and oil, Bodegas Valdelana has two underground museums housed in calados of the fifteenth century. One of them traces the history of all the civilizations that have preceded us in time and the other houses a wine museum where the visitor can discover the arduous work of making wine that our ancestors had in the nineteenth century. We also have a charming rural accommodation where visitors can stay and immerse themselves in the world of wine culture.
History
The Valdelana family has been making wine in Elciego, Álava, for 14 generations since 1615. Its origins date back to the Roman settlement in the area in the 1st century AD, when vines and olive trees were introduced. The oldest document from the winery dates back to 1583. Over the centuries, the family has expanded and modernized the winery, with milestones such as the commercialization of bottled wine in 1974 and the construction of a new winemaking facility in 2007. The winery is currently managed by Juan Jesús Valdelana, and the latest generations continue to blend family tradition with modern industry trends.

The company produces a wide range of wines under various brands, including Familia Valdelana, Barón Ladrón de Guevara, AGNVS, Duquesa de la Victoria, and CENTVM VITIS.
