History
The company was founded in 1927 by Manuel López and María Rojas in Sonseca. After becoming widowed, María Rojas took over the reins of the business and consolidated it. In the 1990s, Alfredo López Rojas transformed the Delaviuda brand into a major industry. In 1996, he acquired El Almendro, and in 2009, he entered the bar business with Artenay Bars, SAS. In 2010, he expanded his chocolate confectionery business and in 2013 adopted the name Delaviuda Confectionery Group. Since 2015, he has also cultivated almond trees to ensure a supply of raw materials. Currently, the third and fourth generations of the family lead the group.
Product types
The company offers nougat, traditional pastries, chocolates, bonbons, cereal and fruit bars, almond snacks, and confectionery products. Its most notable products include traditional and chocolate nougats, chocolates, bars, the FINIIISIMO range from El Almendro, and specialty nougats in collaboration with brands such as Cacaolat, Donettes, and Estrella Galicia. It also offers gourmet chocolates and high-quality pralines through Cacao Sampaka.
