Activity
The best of traditional products adapting them to today's lifestyle. We started to prepare fuets and longanizas in a farmhouse in the region of La Garrotxa. From La Vall de Bianya we moved to Olot, where we rented a factory and expanded with the production of cooked products. We started to grow and inaugurated our first factory: the current Multiproducto plant in Olot. With the acquisition of the company Gou Terrades, it is time to start preparing cured ham. It was our first successful product. Thanks to the first advertising campaign, it became our flagship product, selling 2.2m Kg in 1988. We continue to expand: with the remodeling of our multiproduct facilities in Olot, we became the first to offer sliced sausages. They allow us to start intra-community trade. Espuña crosses borders. It is time to cross the Atlantic with the construction of the current multi-product factory in Argentina. We dared with a new range, very ours, to entertain the appetizers with an easy and original solution. We inaugurated a new factory in Utrillas (Spain), the fourth, as a sliced and cured ham plant. The high pressure technology allows to keep the product fresh, from its manufacture until it is consumed. Espuña has been the first meat company to apply it. For 5 years in a row, we received 8 awards for the PRODUCT OF THE YEAR for innovation: Cañitas, Tapas al Minuto and Slices of Ham in a ZIP container. The multi-mold installation in Utrillas has given continuity to our constant product innovation: from divisible sliced packaging to slices of artisanal Duroc cured ham. In spring we inaugurated a new plant in La Pobla de Lillet for the production of Tapas al Minuto.
