Dominico, La Gaditana, La Zagala

Activity
Founded in 1934, Bodegas y Destilerías "La Gaditana" specializes in the production and production of distilled alcoholic beverages.

History
Bodegas y Destilerías “La Gaditana” was born under the sign of the sun in the center of La Mancha in 1934. Two years before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, in 1934, “La Gaditana” was born at the hands of Dominico Domínguez Martín de Lucía, a Churriego with a creative talent, a bold spirit and an iron will who began to make liqueurs in García Valiño Street in his hometown, contributing his strong personality to a wide range of brands. His first product was anise, which he began to market under three different brands: "La Gaditana," "La Chiquita," and "La Olivilla." He also named his own brandy, "Dominico," as he was so convinced of its quality and popularity that he wasn't afraid to associate it with his first name. These were the two most consumed liquors at that time by the entire population, both rich and poor, and every home didn't have a bottle of each in its "cupboard" so they could entertain any visitor by pairing it with one of the many homemade sweets that were then made in the home. Of all its brands, it chose "La Gaditana," the most representative of its three aniseeds, to name this company, which has survived to this day and has a long and promising future ahead. It's worth remembering that at the national level it had to compete with brands like "La Asturiana" and "La Castellana," hence the similarity in sound that "La Gaditana" was a good selling point. Needless to say, the facilities at La Gaditana were as simple as they were artisanal, as the entire process was carried out manually. Thus, Bodegas y Destilerías “La Gaditana”, which is exactly the name of this family business, is backed by four generations, having welcomed the last one recently, since two of Dominico Domínguez Ramos's grandchildren already work in the company, maintaining the same entrepreneurial spirit and vision that its founder knew how to transmit at the time, "it would be difficult to imagine our family without this company, nor this company without our family."
