Made from the maceration of seven aromatic herbs planted and harvested on the island, including rosemary, fennel, orange tree leaves, and lemon tree leaves. Herbs of Mallorca are a traditional island drink whose origins date back centuries. Like many Mediterranean liqueurs, their origin is linked to the history of wine and medicinal concoctions with aromatic plants and spices. Herbs began to be sold in the late 19th century in Mallorca, although their preparation in the humblest homes had been common long before then. The selection of aromatic plants made by the farmers, which today remains essential for the preparation of herbs, is as follows: lemon verbena, chamomile, orange tree leaves, lemon tree leaves, rosemary, fennel, and lemon balm. Licors Moyà has been producing its herbs since 1890. The seven aromatic plants are harvested from the Moyà family plantation in the town of Artá and macerated for approximately a month. The cold blend of the maceration with an anise base results in this exceptional beverage that represents our island around the world.
