History
The company was founded in 1942 as the Union of Rural Cooperatives of the Province of Tarragona. In 1963, it became independent from the State and became a second-level cooperative. It subsequently expanded its membership and allowed the entry of cooperatives from other areas of Catalonia in 1993. In 1997, it opened its current facilities in Vilallonga del Camp, and in 2009, it opened a sales office in Shanghai. Today, Olis de Catalunya is a leading company in its sector, with a presence in more than 30 countries on four continents.
Product types
The company offers extra virgin olive oils with various designations of origin (DOP Siurana, DOP Les Garrigues, DOP Terra Alta), organic olive oils, vinegars made using the Schützenbach method, and naturally preserved Arbequina olives. Highlights include the OleAurum, Unió, Duc, Oleastrum de Casa ranges, and Miró olive oil.
