Pernod Ricard was founded in 1975 through the merger of two French anise-flavored beverage companies, Pernod & Ricard. Since then, it has experienced significant growth through strategic acquisitions, including Irish Distillers (Jameson) in 1988, Orlando Wyndham (Jacob's Creek) in 1989, Seagram (Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet, Martell) in 2001, Allied Domecq (Mumm, Perrier-Jouët, Ballantine's, Malibu, Beefeater) in 2005, and Vin & Sprit (Absolut Vodka) in 2008. In recent decades, it has continued to expand through the acquisition of premium brands and the development of sustainability and social responsibility initiatives.
