History
Danone was founded in 1919 in Barcelona, when Isaac Carasso created the first Danone yogurt to help children with digestive problems. Initially sold in pharmacies, the product gained a reputation for its health benefits. The company expanded to France and later to the United States, consolidating its international presence. In 1973, following the merger with BSN, Danone diversified its portfolio and focused on health and nutrition. Over the years, it has acquired leading brands, invested in research and sustainability, and adopted 'Société à Mission' status in 2020, integrating social and environmental goals into its business model. In 2022, it launched the 'Renew Danone' strategy to drive sustainable and profitable growth.

Product types
Danone offers a wide range of products in three main categories: dairy and plant-based products (such as yogurts, desserts, beverages, and plant-based alternatives), packaged waters (brands such as Evian, Volvic, Bonafont, AQUA, among others), and specialized nutrition (infant formulas, medical nutrition for adults and children, and supplements). Its most notable brands include Activia, Actimel, Alpro, Danone, Danonino, YoPRO, Silk, International Delight, Fortimel, Aptamil, and Bledina.

Mission
Danone's mission is to "bring health through food to as many people as possible." Its long-term vision is to operate as a sustainable company that respects cultural diversity and people, integrating economic progress with positive social and environmental impact. The company seeks to create shared value by promoting health, protecting natural resources, and the well-being of the communities in which it operates.
