Founded in 1950 by Avelino Vegas in Santiuste de San Juan Bautista (Segovia), the company began producing wines with local grapes, especially Verdejo. In the 1980s, the creation of the Rueda DO boosted recognition of its white wines. In 1993, it expanded to the Ribera del Duero DO with the acquisition of Bodegas Fuentespina. In 2008, it opened a new winery in Rueda, and in 2017, it opened a winery in Ribera del Duero in the style of French chateaux. Currently, the third generation of the family runs the company, which exports to more than 30 countries.
Product types
The company produces white and red wines under the Rueda and Ribera del Duero designations of origin. Highlights include Circe (Verdejo), Nicte, F de Fuentespina, Avelino Vegas 100 Aniversario, and Áureo.
