Activity
In 1935, Antonio Capdevila Pujol and his wife Teresa Blancher Solanes acquired the property and Masía Can Canjon in the municipality of Teià (Barcelona), located in the Maresme region, a very typical area of white wines, included in the DO Alella and Cava, so as to be able to make one of his illusions come true, to make his own wines and cavas.
Antonio Capdevila was joined by a good friendship with the oenologist Ángel Escude, who advised him on the first steps to be taken.
In the first place they modified the farm, explaining it to build different terraces in seven levels, eliminating the slopes and carrying out the agricultural tasks with more comfort.
When the first vines began to bear fruit, they made the first cava that rested for many years in the Can Canjon Masía winery, built in 1848.
The success of the same, and the continuous visits to the capital of the cava, in which it established friendship with the family Planas (vintners and dealers of wine in bulk from end of 1800 and first elaborators of wine alcohol bottled for pharmacies) impelled him to build Cavas Blancher, which placed them in the center of the capital of the Sant Sadurní d'Anoia wine cellar.
History
The company was founded in 1955 by Antoni Capdevila Pujol and Teresa Blancher i Solanes, after acquiring a property in Teià in 1935. Initially, they produced their own wines and cavas, and in 1952, they began construction of the winery in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. Over the decades, the company expanded nationally, diversified its product range, and adopted technical innovations. The third generation of the Carbó Planas family took over management and modernized production, maintaining control over the vineyards and ensuring product traceability. In recent years, they have replanted vineyards, expanded their designations of origin, and obtained quality certifications.
Product types
The company offers a wide range of cavas (Reserva, Gran Reserva, Brut Nature, Semi, Rosé, and special collector's editions) and wines (whites, reds, and minimally bred wines). It also produces vinegars and organizes wine tourism activities, tastings, events, and visits to its museum and wine bar. Highlights include the Gran Reserva de la Tieta, Capdevila Pujol, and special collector's editions of cava.
Mission
Guaranteeing the highest quality in cavas and wines through comprehensive control of the production process, adapting to market trends, and sharing the culture of wine and cava through wine tourism and direct experience with customers and visitors.
