Activity
The house where the museum cellar of the Velasco family sits is a typical Castilian construction from the 17th century and restored at the beginning of it. At that time the buildings did not have the differentiation that today is made of housing or commercial premises, since both spaces were connected and, in many cases, were common, performing household tasks and those of the business in the same environments. This house, located on the populated Calle de Corredera, within the historic center of the city of Toro, is a clear example of traditional Castilian architecture. It is built on a base of limestone ashlars used as foundations, and covering part of the façade, although the walls are mud walls, a kind of wet and pressed earth, in the style of the current concrete formwork. The frame is made of wood, both the beams and the floors of the upper part, with the majority of the pinewood, due to its closeness and abundance, and the black (elm), selected for its hardness and resistance to the xylophages.

History
The winery was founded in 1955 by Dativo Velasco Fernández, who initially settled in Toro to set up a fish business. Later, encouraged by his children, he began making wine in the old wine cellar. After several decades, Antonio Velasco took over, and in 1999, the family built a new, more functional winery and registered with the Regulatory Council of the DO Toro. Currently, the fourth generation of the family continues the business, focusing on wine tourism and preserving the winery's historical heritage.
