History
The Ontañón Familia company represents the winemaking project of the Pérez Cuevas family, who have been dedicated to wine for four generations. The project began in Quel, La Rioja, with the production of Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva wines. In the 1990s, they established a museum winery in Logroño, a pioneer in wine tourism. They later expanded their business with Bodega Queirón in the historic Barrio de Bodegas de Quel and with Bodegas Rippa Dorii in the Rueda and Ribera del Duero appellations.
Product types
The company offers a wide range of wines, grouped into collections such as Classics (Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva, Viura, Clarete), Unusuals (Contrebia, Plinio El Viejo, Natura, LaGarnacha, Antología), and Loose Verses (Quinto Pino, Marco Fabio, Kaori, Kaori Tempranillo). It also produces wines from red (Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano) and white (Viura, Tempranillo Blanco, Maturana Blanca, Garnacha Blanca) varieties. It also offers wine tourism and a wine bar experience.
Mission
The company's fundamental purpose is to maintain the family philosophy, respect for nature, and the pursuit of excellence in viticulture and winemaking. Its long-term goal is to preserve tradition, innovate in winemaking, and promote the internationalization of its products, with a presence in more than 30 countries.
