Jean Leon found the ideal opportunity to realize his second great dream: to produce a wine bearing his name. A WINE: Jean Leon set out to produce a wine of the same name that would live up to his select clientele. To this end, he began traveling the world in search of an area with specific characteristics that would allow him to produce a wine with uniqueness, personality, and identity. Once there, he substituted local vines to begin producing the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines in Spain. Currently, our wines hold the Vi de Finca Certification granted by the Government of Catalonia. This recognition recognizes the uniqueness of wines from a single vineyard as a result of a combination of a specific variety, in a specific soil type, and a microclimate that favors maximum expression. As a result of adapting to changing times, we have been practicing organic farming in the vineyards since 2008, and since the 2012 harvest, the wines will include the organic production certification on the labels. Our 'Vi de Finca' range—Vinya La Scala, Vinya Le Havre, Vinya Palau, and Vinya Gigi—is handcrafted with noble Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Merlot varieties and aged in French and American oak barrels. These factors give them unique characteristics that explain their remarkable distinctiveness.
