Activity
In the heart of Rioja Alavesa, sheltered by the Sierra Cantabria in an area recognized by wines of excellent quality is Bodegas Viña Laguardia.
The beginning of Viña Laguardia dates back to 1910, in the town of Elvillar de Álava, a village 3 km from Laguardia, located on a hillside with numerous palatial houses, and whose history goes back to the time of the Dolmens. At 1 km from the winery, is "La Chabola de la Hechicera", a megalithic funerary monument of Prehistory, which is worth visiting.
On the way to the winery you can enjoy one of the best views of the Rioja Alavesa Vineyards and our Sierra Cantabria through the "Road of the Vineyards". You can find more information on Tripadvisor or Minube.
History
Bodegas Viña Laguardia was founded in 1910 in Elvillar de Álava. Initially located in an underground cellar, the winery moved to the entrance of the village in the 1970s, where it continued producing wines using traditional methods. In the 1990s, it was modernized with a new production room and stainless steel tanks, and in 2006, it expanded its services to the restaurant and wine tourism sectors. The winery has continued to invest in technology and equipment to improve the quality of its wines.
