The company was founded in 1851 by Juan Suau y Bennassar, who moved his spirits business from Cuba to Mallorca. Initially producing rum and anise, it later specialized in brandy. Throughout its history, the company has overcome difficulties such as the Spanish Civil War and changes in family management. In 1989, the Barceló family joined as majority shareholders, allowing for the continuity and modernization of the company. Today, Bodegas Suau maintains its artisanal tradition and has adapted its image and products to new international markets.

The company offers a range of artisanal spirits, highlighting its aged brandies (Suau 15, Suau 25, Suau 50, Madelon, and S'Or de Suau), rum (Ron Jungla), gin (Maior Gin), and vermouth (Vermouth el Mallorquín). Its most notable products are its brandies from various vintages and limited editions, as well as Ron Jungla and Maior Gin.
