Recommendation for use La primera mención de este postre data del siglo XIV. La tradición cuenta que es originario de Dresden. En su origen fue un postre muy simple para cumplir con los periodos de ayuno en Adviento. Poco a poco se empezó a condimentar con mazapán, pasas, dados de naranja y limón confitados y/o frutos secos. Pensado para tomar como postre en las fiestas de Navidad, aunque también se toma en desayunos, meriendas o como tentempié. Se suele servir en finas rebanadas.
