The Celler Cooperatiu d'Espolla was founded in 1931 by a group of winegrowers seeking to improve the quality and marketing of their products. Its building, inaugurated that same year and designed by Pelai Martínez, is inspired by the "Wine Cathedrals" of Tarragona. The cooperative traces its origins to the Sindicat Agrícola d'Espolla, created in 1906, and has played a fundamental role in the transformation of the town of Espolla and its surroundings for over a century.
