Heineken uses selected ingredients of extraordinary quality in the production of its beer: Pilsen barley malt, hops, water, and an exclusive bottom-fermenting yeast. Heineken's bottom-fermenting yeast is distributed from Holland to the more than 70 countries where it is produced. It is a bright yellow lager-type and -style beer. It has an intense, creamy, and persistent white foam in the glass, leaving clear rings as it is consumed. Its fruity banana aroma (from its slow, low-temperature fermentation) lasts until final consumption, mixing with the slight sweetness of the Pilsen malt and its soft bitterness. Heineken is a light-bodied, dry beer with a good mouthfeel, providing a very fresh, non-astringent bitter finish upon completion. Recommended serving temperature: 0-3ºC.
