History
IDEAS was founded more than 25 years ago, becoming one of the pioneering organizations in the implementation of Fair Trade and Solidarity Economy initiatives in Spain. Since its inception, it has worked with producer organizations in the South (Africa, Asia, and Latin America) through cooperation programs, technical assistance, and product imports and sales. Throughout its history, it has expanded its activities to include training, consulting, awareness campaigns, and international cooperation, consolidating its position as a national leader in the sector. It is a founding member of several Fair Trade and Solidarity Economy networks and coordinators.
Product types
IDEAS markets a wide range of organic and Fair Trade products, including food (coffee, cocoa, sugar, quinoa, spices, tea), natural cosmetics (shea butter, essential oils, floral waters), merchandising (T-shirts and bags), and artisanal products. It also offers training, consulting, and technical assistance in responsible public procurement, as well as sustainable event planning and awareness-raising campaigns. Its most notable products include single-origin coffee, chocolates of different varieties, shea butter, essential oils, and organic sugars.

IDEAS's mission is to transform the economic and social environment to build a more just and sustainable world by developing Fair Trade, Solidarity Economy, and Responsible Consumption initiatives both locally and internationally. Its vision is to promote an economic model based on equity, sustainability, and respect for human rights, supporting small-scale producers and fostering a critical citizenry committed to the Sustainable Development Goals.
