The company was established in January 2005 as Lugar da Veiga SLL to launch the Daveiga Responsible Production project. After a year of development, it launched the Mariñeiras® brand in June 2006. In 2008, it implemented an integrated quality and food safety management system, obtaining several certifications. Between 2013 and 2020, it experienced significant growth in its production capacity. In 2022, it opened new facilities to meet demand and improve working conditions. It has received various awards for its business model, quality, and innovation.

The company primarily offers long-lasting toasted bread under the Mariñeiras® brand, available in three lines: natural, organic, and snacks. Highlights include classic toasted bread, whole-wheat toasted bread, chia seed toast, flax seed toast, unsalted toast, and organic varieties such as those with extra virgin olive oil, chia, and spelt. It also produces snacks in flavors such as tomato and oregano, garlic and parsley, empanada, and chocolate and olive oil.
