Mariscos Castellar is today one of the most important seafood cookers in Spain and a benchmark in the distribution of frozen food in the country. Distributes, through wholesalers, to the most select hotels, catering, restaurants, bars and seafood restaurants. Its products are positioned in a large number of Spanish supermarkets and food stores and are exported internationally to European countries such as Portugal, England and the Netherlands.
History
Founded in 1969 by Pepe García and Elisa Calero in Castellar (Jaén), the company has family roots dating back three generations. It began as an artisanal business and has evolved into an industrialized company, maintaining its traditional quality. In 1983, it industrialized with a cooking plant and warehouses in Castellar; in 1994, it opened a distribution center and cold storage facility in Jaén; and in 2005, a large distribution center and offices in Santisteban del Puerto. Since 2015, the company has been run by siblings Francisco and Josefina García Calero, who have driven its modernization and national and international expansion.

It offers a wide range of seafood products, including freshly cooked seafood (prawns, crayfish, shrimp), frozen seafood (prawns, shrimp, crayfish, crayfish), fish (cod, hake, monkfish, sole, tuna, swordfish), prepared seafood (seafood salpicón, soup and paella mixes), pre-cooked seafood (sea anemone, shrimp fritters, shrimp in batter, homemade croquettes), and cephalopods and bivalves (squid, cuttlefish, mussels, clams).
