Regadhigos dates back to the 1970s, when a group of farmers joined together to improve their performance as fig producers. In the 1980s, they formed an Agrarian Transformation Society (SAT) to produce and process figs. In 1987, the Regadhigos Cooperative Society was created, allowing for the expansion of production and marketing of other agricultural products and an increase in the number of members and services offered. Currently, the cooperative has more than 500 members and employs more than 300 people.
Product types
The cooperative produces and sells figs (natural, floured, and dried), jams, fig bread, energy bars, vinegars, tomatoes, corn, and olives. Among its most notable products are figs in various forms, fig bread, and fig jams.
Mission
Regadhigos' main objective is to promote the quality and flavor of Almoharín figs in as many markets as possible, making the most of the local resources and offering high-quality products through the cooperation of its partners.
