The company was founded in 1908 by Joaquim Trias i Vila in Santa Coloma de Farners. Over the years, it has passed through several family generations, maintaining tradition and improving its products. Highlights include the registration of the "TRIAS" trademark in 1911, the sale of cardboard boxes in 1922, and the opening of the Trias Museum in 1994. The company is currently managed by the third and fourth generations of the Trias family.
