The company was founded in 2010 after the merger of two family-run fruit and vegetable companies in Porreres, Mallorca, in response to a crisis in the sector. Following the merger, the distribution channel was changed to sell directly to customers through its own stores. The first store opened in 2011 in Porreres, and since then the company has grown to more than 20 stores and a workforce of nearly 500 people. Agromart has always been committed to local production and the professionalization of the Balearic agricultural sector.

It offers a wide variety of products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, fish and seafood, bakery products, pastries, nuts, seeds, wines, cheeses, cured meats, dairy products, juices, organic products, gluten-free products, prepared meals, and ice cream. Highlights include its own-produced fruits and vegetables, Mallorcan wines, Balearic cheeses, locally sourced meats, fresh seasonal fish, artisan bread and pastries, and a range of its own products under the Agromart brand.

Agromart's fundamental purpose is to dignify and professionalize Balearic agriculture, promoting the consumption of local, quality products using production methods that respect health and the environment. Its long-term goal is to establish itself as a benchmark in the production and marketing of local, sustainable, and healthy foods, contributing to the conservation of the rural environment and agricultural diversity.
