Activity
ALCUBILLA 2.000 S.L. is an oil mill created in 1999 with the intention of obtaining exclusively extra virgin olive oil from Organic Farming. It is located in Castro del Río (CORDOBA), in the heart of Andalusia, one of the towns that make up the Caliphate Route between Córdoba and Granada.
From the moment of its foundation, the mill has worked as a source and receiver of all the sensitivities surrounding the ECOLOGICAL CULTIVATION. The result of this has been the organization of courses and conferences on Ecological Agriculture in our facilities, which has made us a reference for the development of ecological olive cultivation in the Baena region.
The maintenance of biodiversity and the development of renewable energy have become two major challenges in our company, which we have undertaken through various projects.
In addition, and as a pioneer company in Spain, we have developed the calculation and verification of our carbon footprint, through the "CO2 Verified" project, which implicitly implies a commitment to reduce emissions year after year.
Finally, we have put into operation a shop of organic products in our own mill, where you can buy LUQUE organic olive oil and other organic products, as well as handicrafts (utensils made of olive wood, enea, ...).
History
The Luque family has a long tradition of olive growing, spanning seven generations and five generations of milling. In the late 1980s, they began organic olive farming, pioneering this production system in Spain. In 1999, they founded the Alcubilla 2000 SL olive mill, now known as LUQUE ECOLÓGICO, SL, dedicated exclusively to milling organic olives. Over the years, they have combined traditional methods and modern technology, earning international certifications and numerous awards for their commitment to quality and the environment.
Product types
The company primarily offers organic extra virgin olive oil in various lines and formats (classic, premium, limited edition, Pajarera single-variety, century-old olive trees, etc.), organic vinegars (Pedro Ximénez, Jerez), organic gazpacho (with and without gluten), organic table olives, and special edition products or gift packs. Highlights include organic EVOO, the "Palaeo" line of century-old olive trees, and the limited edition Pajarera single-variety oil.
Mission
The company's mission is to produce and market olive oil and olive-derived products using organic farming principles, prioritizing sustainability, food quality, and respect for the environment. Its vision is to contribute to sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and the dissemination of organic farming, while maintaining family traditions and adapting to the current challenges of the agri-food sector.
