THE DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN Bodegas del Medievo is located in Aldeanueva de Ebro (La Rioja), within the D.O. Ca. Rioja. THE COMPANY Bodegas del Medievo was formed between a group of farmers and marketers, in order to optimize the quality and sales of their wines. THE WINERY The municipality of Aldeanueva de Ebro is 50 km from Logroño, the capital of La Rioja. Its modern facilities occupy an area of 3500 square meters. It has a processing capacity of 2 million Kg of grapes and 2500 barrels (80% American Oak and 20% French Oak). THE VINEYARD The aim of Bodegas del Medievo is to produce high quality wines. For this purpose, it owns 150 Hectares of vineyard. The cultivated varieties are: 65% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 10% Mazuelo and 5% Graciano. The vineyard extends through the highest area of Aldeanueva de Ebro, 600 meters high. The soils are clayey-calcareous, poor in organic matter, and scarce rainfall; Optimal conditions for the cultivation of grapes. INSTALLATIONS • Stainless steel 20m3 hopper. • Destemmer-crusher group of 25000Kg / hour. // Pneumatic Press 100Hl • 28 fermentation stainless steel tanks (40,000 liters). • 12 storage stainless steel tanks (52,000 liters). • Cold temperature control system for fermentation of 220,000 BTU / hour. • Stabilization equipment of 35,000 BTU / hour. • 5 isotherms of 20,000 liters. // 2500 oak barrels. • Bertolaso bottling plant of 3,000 bottles / hour. • Built surface of 3,500 m2. Distributed in a warehouse of 1,200 m2, one aging of 700 m2, another bottling 500 m2 and one warehouse 1100 m2.
History
Queirón is the Pérez Cuevas family's winemaking project in Quel, Rioja Oriental. The family has been linked to the world of wine for more than four generations. The current project is the culmination of Gabriel Pérez's dream, who has dedicated more than 25 years to restoring historic vineyards in the Quel area. The winery was built respecting the traditional architecture of Quel's Winery District and uses methods that minimize intervention in the winemaking process.
Product types
Queirón produces a variety of wines, including: Queirón de Gabriel (Reserva 2011), Mi Lugar (2017), El Arca (Viñedo Singular 2017), Ensayos Capitales Nº1 (Graciano without sulfites 2018), and Ensayos Capitales Nº2 (Lágrima en Tinaja 2019, Tempranillo Blanco). Particularly noteworthy are El Arca, made from century-old Garnacha grapes, and La Pasada, a unique high-altitude Tempranillo vineyard.

Queirón's fundamental purpose is to produce wines that express the soul of the Quel region, respecting family traditions and the uniqueness of its vineyards, with balanced viticulture and minimal intervention, seeking excellence and authenticity in each wine.
