A family-owned Mediterranean food company dedicated to the industrial processing, packaging, and marketing of olive and seed oils, nuts, dried fruits, vinegars, balsamic creams, and plant-based drinks, with an international presence.
History
Founded in 1896 by the Pont Creus family in Tárrega (Lleida, Spain), it began as a small business buying and selling olives and almonds. Over the years, the company industrialized, incorporating modern machinery and expanding its production. In 1957, it began exporting, and in 1964, the Borges brand was launched. Over the following decades, Borges consolidated its leadership in oils and nuts in Spain and expanded its international presence, currently operating in more than 100 countries.
Product types
It offers olive oils (extra virgin, organic, varietal, flavored), seed oils, vinegars (balsamic, wine, apple, sherry), balsamic creams, nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, peanuts, mixed nuts), dried fruits (dates, apricots, prunes, raisins), and plant-based drinks (walnut, hazelnut, almond, combined with rice or oats). Particularly noteworthy are its olive oils and balsamic vinegars from Modena.
Mission
The company's mission is to improve the quality of life through healthy products, promoting a balanced and sustainable diet, while protecting both people's health and the environment. Its vision is to bring Mediterranean flavors and the benefits of healthy eating to everyone, while maintaining a commitment to sustainability and innovation for future generations.
