Green Crab Cetárea Tazones

It is one of the most common crustaceans in our waters, belonging to the Portunidae family. It is also known as the common crab or green crab. It has a pentagonal, somewhat rounded, and smooth shell, with five teeth on each side of the front edge, usually mottled green with darker spots. Its first pair of legs end in strong pincers, without spines or keels. Its last pair is pointed, since, unlike the spider crab (with which it shares many characteristics), it is a crawling crustacean that, when it feels endangered, sometimes buries itself in sandy or muddy bottoms. They can grow up to 7 cm in size. Due to its intense flavor, it is used in creams, broths, soups, etc.
