Crab Cetárea Bowls 1 Kg

This species of crustacean from the Majidae family stands out for being a large migratory crab (it can measure up to 20 cm in diameter). Its shell is thick and domed, 18-20 cm long, with sharp spines and bristles of varying size. We often see it covered by algae attached to it (a characteristic of Cantabrian shellfish or also called “country shellfish”). The first pair of legs has a pair of small, elongated pincers of similar size, which are twice as long as the body (larger in males), the rest of the legs are long and hairy except for the fifth pair. The colour varies between red and brown tones, depending on the fishing area. It is sold alive and generally weighs between 0.5 and 1.5 kilos.
