History
MOEHS was founded in 1962 in Barcelona as a manufacturer of fine chemicals for the pharmaceutical industry. In 1980, it became part of the SANOFI Group for 15 years. In 1995, it was acquired by PMC Global, Inc., enabling the creation of a fine chemicals structure in Europe. In the following years, MOEHS expanded its production capacity with new plants in Spain and the acquisition of companies in Belgium, France, and Germany. In 2011, it entered the biotechnology field with the partial acquisition of Proteos Biotech. In 2013, it opened a new plant in Barcelona and in 2017, it established a research and development center. In 2019, it acquired the majority of Zeta Pharmaceuticals. Currently, MOEHS IBERICA is the group's headquarters and coordinates services for all subsidiaries.

The Moehs Group manufactures a wide variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for different therapeutic areas, including antihypertensives, local anesthetics, antidepressants, antidiabetics, mucolytics, and antipsychotics. Key products include Metamizole, Acebutolol HCl, Amantadine HCl, Amlodipine Besilate, Bisoprolol Fumarate, Bupivacaine Hydrochloride, Carbocysteine, Carvedilol, Celiprolol HCl, Duloxetine HCl, Lidocaine, Quetiapine Fumarate, Tamoxifen Citrate, and others. It also develops new active ingredients and offers custom synthesis and industrial scale-up services.
