Ctra. Cigales - Corcos Km. 3., 47270 Cigales, Valladolid (España)
Museumn, Numerus Clausus, Vinea, Vinea Rosado
Activity
Finca Museum is a consequence of the beginning of the expansion of the Barón de Ley Group outside La Rioja, its territory of origin.
Looking for wine areas where it is possible to maintain a correct quality-price ratio, the Group sets its sights on the Cigales Designation of Origin. Town to town, square to square, asking each villager, he finally came up with a unique vineyard on which to build a spectacular winery that today is called Finca Museum.
In 1999 a 'test' year was elaborated in a third-party winery and submitted to aging in an old hermitage of Cigales. A year later, the first bottle of that first vintage was uncorked in the Monasterio Estate of the Barón de Ley Group in Mendavia. A new story began.
History
In the late 1990s, the Barón de Ley Group decided to expand beyond the Rioja DOCa and, after searching several regions, chose the Cigales DO for its winemaking tradition and centuries-old vineyards. In 2000, Finca Museum was founded, acquiring more than 200 hectares of its own vineyards, many of them reclaimed from local winegrowers.
Product types
The company offers wines in various categories, highlighting Reserva, Crianza, Rosé, and Estate Wines. Among its products are Museum Reserva, Museum Rosé, Museum Numerus Clausus, Vinea Rosado, Vinea Crianza, and La Renacida.
Mission
The company's mission is to enhance the heritage of the centuries-old vineyards of the DO Cigales and transform them into wines that convey the authenticity and character of the area.
