History
Bel was founded in 1865 in the Jura region of France as a cheese ripening and retail business. In 1922, it became a public limited company and began industrial production of processed cheese, most notably the creation of La Vache qui rit®. Throughout the 20th century, the company expanded internationally and diversified its portfolio with brands such as Kiri®, Babybel®, Boursin®, and Apéricube®. In the 21st century, Bel accelerated its growth with acquisitions such as Materne (MOM) and All In Foods, expanding its presence in the fruit and vegetable segments. Currently, the company is present in more than 120 countries and continues its international development and commitment to innovation and sustainability.
