History
Mazalmendra was founded in 1920 in Malagón (Ciudad Real) by Olayo Fernández, initially dedicated to the production of marzipan and nougat. In 1960, the second generation perfected techniques and made key investments, such as the acquisition of machinery for almond processing. In 1979, the third generation began the industrialization and professionalization of the business, consolidating its position as a leader in the production of marzipan and nougat. In 1996, the company expanded its range and began producing sponge cake bases. Since 2012, Mazalmendra has focused on the production of bases and other pastry products, becoming a main supplier to major industries and chains in Spain.
