Saizar's origins date back to the 1970s, when Esteban Lertxundi founded the cider house using his farmhouse and an old farm. The company has evolved with the addition of the second generation of the family, investing in technology and expanding its distribution network nationwide. Currently, it has three wineries and 16 hectares of apple orchards, and has diversified its activities into restaurants and tourism, including the opening of a rural guesthouse in 2020.
Product types
The company offers various types of ciders (such as Saizar Gorenak, Saizar DO Euskal Sagardoa, Saizar Gorenak Gourmet), cider brandy, apple cider vinegar, and Sagardoz. It also offers gastronomic menus at its cider house, including vegan and children's options, and organizes gastrocultural experiences and guided tours.
Mission
Saizar's goal is to maintain the tradition of cider making, combining traditional methods with technological innovation to ensure the highest quality and consistency in its products, and to expand into the international market.
