History
The Zudugarai winery is a family business with more than three generations dedicated to caring for the Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza grape varieties and producing txakoli. During the 16th and 17th centuries, the vineyards developed in the region, and txakoli was linked to Basque seafaring traditions. At the end of the 19th century, the vineyards suffered a crisis due to pests and competition from foreign wines. In the 20th century, the winery participated in the renewal of the sector, achieving recognition of the Getariako Txakolina Designation of Origin in 1989.
