Montecillo Gran Reserva is a classic, powerful and elegantly complex Rioja. More than 140 years after its foundation, Bodegas Montecillo demonstrates its commitment to excellence with top quality wines, vintage after vintage. COLOUR: Clean and bright in colour. Intense ruby red with good colour density. AROMA AND TASTE: On the nose it is very perfumed with aromas of ripe fruit. Complex and elegant. Satiny texture with fine tannins and a leathery taste. Elegant and refined with a long finish and aftertaste with notes of liquorice. Ideal for dishes where the velvety smoothness of this wine can coexist and be enhanced. Great with stews and meats, especially with birds such as partridge or pheasant.

• A classic, powerful and elegantly complex, made with a selection of the best grapes
• First fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28ºC and maceration (contact with skins) during the same. Second natural fermentation in underground tanks. Ageing (oxidative) in semi-new French and American oak barrels of the highest quality for 26 months. Ageing (reductive) in bottle for a minimum of 36 months - each bottle is carefully stacked by hand in the underground bottle rack.
